There’s a wholesomeness to these muffins that set them apart from the sugary variety you (too) often come across. Part of that comes from the spelt flour we use in the mix, an ancient whole grain with earthy, nutty notes – it’s one of our favourite flours for that reason! The sourdough starter discard adds another layer of flavour while ensuring these muffins stay super moist and fluffy.
